Waxing Faqs
Frequently asked questions
CAN I GET WAXED IF I’M TAKING MEDICATION?
Waxing and prescribed medication do NOT always go hand in hand. It’s imperative that you inform us prior to any appointment. We will NOT wax you if you are on Accutane or have been in the past 6 months. Waxing on Accutane is very dangerous and will require a doctor's note in order to be serviced by us.
DO I HAVE TO REMOVE MY PIERCINGS TO GET WAXED?
We recommend that you remove your piercing for the best wax experience. If you prefer not to remove your piercing, the esthetician will work around it but may leave a few hairs that are too close to touch.
WHY AM I GETTING INGROWN HAIRS?
Some people are prone to ingrown hairs regardless of how well they take care of their skin. In this case a skincare regimen is needed. Using a professional grade product, exfoliating at least 3 times a week, and practicing proper hair removal will treat and prevent ingrown hairs.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET WAXED?
Because the hair growth cycle is 28 days, typically you should get waxed every 4 weeks, however your esthetician will assess your hair and give you specific instructions according to your hair type and growth. Facial waxes and underarm waxes are sometimes preformed every 2 weeks.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A BRAZILIAN, FULL BIKINI, AND BIKINI LINE?
A Brazilian wax includes everything from front to back, including the butt strip. A Full Bikini is the exact same thing as Brazilian minus the butt strip. A Bikini Line is just the outer area, including the top of the vaginal area and the two sides. Typically everything that would be visible when wearing a bikini.
HOW MUCH HAIR DO I NEED TO GET WAXED?
Two weeks of hair growth is usually the minimum amount of time needed for proper length of hair. Do not shave or trim the hair prior to your appointment. If the hair is too short the wax will not be able to grab onto the hair. The hair should be as long as a grain of rice.
